Then, when she met Edward. But that's ok, because I really enjoyed the book. I realized while reading this one that unless there is a zany main character, or a unique situation, chick lit isn't really for me. Amanda's mother offers to take Amanda and her son Max on a summer vacation to the posh St. So, in that sense, I would say this book for the most part fulfills all those desired elements. Worse, Andre seems to think she should just accept his infidelity and carry on as normal for the sake of their young son, Max. You feel very satisfied once you have finished it.
Amanda seems to revert to adolescence in the games she plays hiding her activities from her mother. The story is set in San Francisco and Laguna Beach, California, and is told in the first person narrative by the story's protagonist, Amanda. She soon realizes the world is still full of possibilities. Now, on the last day, Amanda is having a cocktail at the hotel bar and Edward pops in to join her. She didn't even have her suspicions. What I love most about Christmas is spending time with our family.
This was a Tuesday that Amanda would never forget. The plot was too predictable. Also divorced, Edward teaches Amanda that there can be a life after Andre…until his loyalties are to be questioned. After a few shots of tequila, a borrowed dress, shoes, and her make-up and hair done, Stephanie shoved Amanda out her front door to go home and confront Andre. All that said, I was able to read the book with relative ease. However, she soon meets a kind, older divorcee who starts to shower her with attention.

We are hoping their Christmas will be very special since we bought them a lot of fun stuff. This is the sometimes funny, sometimes bitter, but always moving story about the mistakes and discoveries a woman makes when her perfect world is turned upside down. I wanted them to and I wanted to see what would happen. Thank you Anita and Saint Martins for sending me this great read! Amanda must flee her life in order to rebuild it in this sometimes funny, always moving story that explores what it means to be loved, betrayed, and to love again. Monarch Beach charmed me from the very first page. The opportunity falls into her lap when her very lovable mother suggests Amanda and her young son, Max spend the summer with her at the St. Rather, Blick takers their son, Max, out of the San Francisco area to St. I think this will be our new tradition. Even though I had to wait six weeks for the book, let me just say it was worth the wait.
The Beach Holiday is definitely not a miss, but I've read better. One morning Amanda decides to visit the restaurant for breakfast and finds a little more than she bargained for. Ok, I'm done : This book is definitely chick lit, but it was good, surprisingly good since I don't read too many romance, beachy novels. Regis was simply gorgeous and Amanda began to think this was perhaps the best way for her to get over and forget Andre. She hopped into her car, drove to the post office and parked, then walked to the lake.
Amanda turns to her widowed mother for advice. Devastated by his betrayal, Amanda accepts her mother's offer of an holiday and runs away with Max to an exclusive resort in Laguna Beach. As the beautiful cover suggests, Monarch Beach is about beautiful people who live in beautiful places. Amanda had met Andre in July just after she graduated from Berkley and they were engaged by the end of the summer. And she very well could now, at this point in her life, since Max is in school all day. I really enjoyed reading a book where the setting was on the west coast. She meets Edward, a divorced man who helps her through her tough days.
